Dearest community and comrades,
These last few months have been heavy. We continue to watch horror after horror unfold from our phone screens, from Palestine to Turtle Island. We see western governments and media attempt to repress our resistance and divide and detain us. But we also see hope alongside despair – it’s that hope that drives us forwards, that re-energises us and sustains. We know there are glimmers, even in the dark.
And as winter approaches, we follow Mother Nature’s teachings to rest, nest, and hibernate over these coming months. But while it’s tempting to withdraw as it gets colder, we know isolating ourselves is exactly what keeps the capitalist machine running. So over these next few months, let’s make space for nourishment, learning and warmth – together.
In love and solidarity,
ROT Collective
Community Space: not-Diwali party 🪔
Don’t pack up your festive items, food and rituals just yet - join us for our second ever gathering for Diwali and Bandi Chor Diwas a little later this year in Central London!
For our final community space of the year, we invite you to be with us as we try to create a space for joy and nourishment, honouring the change of seasons and, taking heed from Dalit-Bahujans who at this time of year often celebrate our connection to the earth. We hope this can be one part of your anti-caste practice, challenging Brahminical hegemony and the dominance of the upper caste influences on festivals and cultural stories. We will explore this more together on the day.
🌼 A space for community who want to gather to celebrate, share food, grieve and learn!
🪩 Music, games and fun for all. We will have quiet and outdoor spaces available.
🍛 Pot luck - bring what you can, we’ll be cooking a community meal too.

Resources we’re engaging with…
International League Of Peoples Struggle (ILPS) have published part one of their ‘Fightback Fascism’ series exploring the rise of fascism and modern day fascists regimes - essential viewing to contextualise how it operates in tandem with imperialism. Check the slides here.
For future events, visit peoplesstruggle.org/fightback for more details!
🍉 Communicating Palestine is a brilliant resource to meaningfully engage and reframe Palestine in a dignified way. We all have a responsibility to ethically drive the conversation. Share widely with academics, policy advisors and artists for helpful tools and practical guides!
inSAF India have a series exploring the indigenous Adivasi communities in India. See the full programme here.
We will link the struggles of the Adivasi peoples with those of oppressed peoples in Palestine, Latin America and Southeast Asia and find the commonalities that connect us in our common struggle against colonialism and imperialism.
Most of our spaces, workshops and events are free but if you feel called to contribute to the community and invest in sustaining our work, please donate here.
